Things Megan has said over the past few days that make her Dad groan:
"Mama! You said ****!" (After I backed up into another car and let a special expletive fly).
"Mama, can we go to the Red Ball Store?" (Target)
"Where's my credit card?" (It came with her toy cash register)
"Daddy, I need some money!"

The Saga Continues
So I feel pretty confident in Megan's peeing in the potty abilities now. It's actually quite fabulous. She tells us when she wants to go, and will even go without telling us. Yesterday, she took off her jammies and diaper (it was the morning), trotted downstairs, peed, and then came back upstairs! It was awesome. I didn't even realize she'd done it until I looked in the potty chair later. What a smart girl. In fact, she's so good at it that we have--da da da da!--LEFT THE HOUSE WITH UNDIES ON. First, it was just a trip to the Beck's house. But today, we spent six hours at the bakery with no accidents! (Pee that it). Of course, we have yet to have a successful #2 in the potty. But, peeing is a huge step and I am happy with that. The rest will come in time.
So tonight, we will continue our rejoicing that the St. Stephen's Course is done and acutally go out with friends. Well, friends being the Macalinos. But they're friends! And they're fun. We're going bowling. I can't wait.
Okay, Megan just stepped on Marina and she's screaming, so I've gotta go.

Potty Training Saga, Day 3
No pee accidents!! Who would've thought Megan would get the hang of this so quickly?? Perhaps it's the M&M's. But, as her Dad and I like to think, perhaps she's just that brilliant.
Today was my last day watching Ryder. While I will miss him--he's such a sweetie--I feel like the possibilities for my day tomorrow are endless. Who know what I can accomplish with only two kids? Even though I did get a lot done today--I cleaned our whole upstairs (with the exception of the office desk which Dn. John and I are tackling after the kids are in bed), and put all the laundry away, it still took ALL DAY. I haven't done any sewing in awhile; maybe I'll start a quilt tomorrow. I've got a couple in mind that I want to make.

Potty Training Saga: Day 2
Well, we are on day 2 of potty training Megan. So far, it is a huge success. She had no pre-nap pee accidents (she did poop on the floor, but in all fairness she was upstairs when she realized she had to go and was running to the potty as fast as her little legs would carry her, to no avail). Post nap, she peed in the potty three times, and only had one accident, because her potty chair wasn't in the bathroom (long story). She ran to the bathroom....and peed on the floor. But, she tried!! So tomorrow, she gets to wear pants and socks again (she's had none on for the last 48 hours, for obvious reasons). She's finally figured out how to get her undies off by herself, so now we have to teach her how to get her pants off on her own, too. In any case, I'm pretty stoked that she's doing so well! I'm saving lots of tips so I can offer all kinds of wisdom when helping to potty-train my Godson this summer (and by help, I mean I will be the one handing out candy).
In other news, I have discovered two things: One, is that I now know that if I had three kids, I wouldn't go completely insane (only part-way). Second, is that I could totally adopt someday. Both of these realizations are due to little Ryder, who I am babysitting this week. I am totally in love with him. He's the sweetest little boy. On the flip side, it took me eight hours to get my dishes done, fold the laundry, and sweep the kitchen floor, since I was chasing three kids all day. (Okay, not really chasing--Marina and Ryder can't move that much. But you get my drift).
Well, Megan is downstairs having a meltdown, which is cue for bedtime. Marina is already down, which means Daddy and I get to watch a movie that wasn't made by Pixar this evening! Yay!

Potty Training, Take 2
I am babysitting a super-cute little boy this week named Ryder. He is almost three months old, so it's a little hectic at time with my Super-Toddler, Marina, and Ryder. Since I knew I wasn't about to try leaving the house with three kids (two of them not walking, nor even sitting up yet!), I decided it would be a fantasically great idea to potty train Megan. (See earlier blog post: I am an overachiever).
Thus far, the score it: Potty Chair: 2!! Various other messes around our house (including the couch, my pile of clean clothes for after I got out of the shower, and the coffee table): 8. However, we are fixating on the two major successes she has had! It's great. Both times she told her Dad she had to pee and went into the bathroom. The other eight times...well...let's just say it's day 1, and we're still getting the hang of it. So hopefully tomorrow will be even more successful. After she peed the first time, we got on the horn and let her call Aunts and Uncles. Since it was too late on the East Coast to grace her Grandparents or Godparents with a shout-out, we are saving them for tomorrow. Also good to note: M&Ms make Megan hyper. They are her treat for peeing in the potty chair. Both times she peed (and three times that she didn't!!) were after 6 pm, so she ran around like a loony for most of the evening. My "favorite" mess of the day was when she took off her jammies and her diaper, and promptly squatted over my pile of clean clothes to take a whiz.
Also amusing is the fact that we had our friend Dan over for dinner tonight. He's Dn. John's age and single, but was a super good sport about Megan running around in naught but her Elmo undies, and the two of us basically doing a dance of delight when she successfully peed for the first time. Poor guy. I'm sure he had things he'd rather have been doing then watching our two-year old pee, but such is life. I made him a good dinner, I hope that makes up for it.
This is a delightful video of my kids playing. Marina makes this funny heavy-breathing sound when she's happy, and Megan has been imitating it lately. They're laughing at each other too...it's so cute.

Earwax
So Megan discovered her earwax this morning during church. She turned to me with her finger held up and announced (loudly, I might add): "Look Mama! Boogers in my ear!"
